Bangkok’s legendary hustle and bustle moves at a pace unlike any other city. Add in its many activities, exotic cuisines, and unique sights, and it becomes a place like no other. Since Bangkok moves fast, you want to do it right. From Muay Thai to floating markets – there are many things to do and never enough time – but there's no need to worry … we’ve crafted the ideal day for you.
Wake up at Amara Bangkok (One of our top recommendations) – this modern hotel is right in the heart of the city and offers both epic skyline views and a luxurious rooftop pool. Even before your alarm, the clink of kitchen gear and scent of fried garlic signal that street vendors are already at work.
Grab breakfast at Klaire, a cafe that serves strong coffee, tasty pastries, and lots of clean brunch options. Eat big and fuel up, there’s a fun day on the horizon.
HotelThe Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is famous for vendors selling fresh food right out of their boats as they row down the canal. It is a picture-perfect, out-of-this-world sight. But, be wary – it is known for tourist upcharges and scams. Soak in the colors and aromas, but keep your wallet in mind.
Maeklong Railway Market is a street market set on active train tracks. Trains come 6-8 times per day. When trains approach, vendors swiftly pull their stands to the side, then restore them once the coast is clear. It’s awfully unique and a must-see. Although it can get crowded, it is much more authentic and less touristy than floating markets. Check ‘em out.
Book NowFor a sit-down lunch, we recommend Palate, a conveniently located cafe that serves Thai comfort food with fun twists. The atmosphere is relaxed – perfect to unwind after a busy morning.
If you’re feeling adventurous, indulge in a Maliwan Thai Cooking Class instead, where you can learn to cook traditional cuisine, then enjoy the fruits of your labor by devouring it. Just make sure to check the daily menu before you go.
In the afternoon, you need to go on a guided tour of the Grand Palace. It’s jaw-dropping. The tour also includes visits to Wat Pho and Wat Arun, must-see spots that showcase an enormous golden Buddha and captivating river views.
For dinner, we love Above Riva, a spot right on the river that offers views of Wat Arun. The restaurant mixes Thai classics with international dishes.
Post-dinner drinks are mandatory. Trust us, head to Blue Sky Rooftop Bar. This spot holds great views, good drinks, and a calm atmosphere.
Start your night by watching a Muay Thai fight at Rajadamnern Stadium. Not only are the fights fascinating, but Muay Thai is an art form that is an intrinsic part of Thai culture. To immerse yourself in the community, watch poetry in motion at Rajadamnern.
Then, party the night away at Khaoskan Road. This block bursts with cool bars, diverse music, and late-night bites. The party doesn't stop. It is really, really fun.
We built a long day – if you don’t get to everything, it's okay. But try to fit in as much fun as you can. Bangkok offers unparalleled experiences.
No matter what activities you choose, remember the one golden rule of Bangkok - dive in fully, and let the city show you its best.
